What do surfers, lenticulars and a crime story have to do with The Beatles? And who are these people? All this and more will be revealed!

What do surfers, lenticulars and a crime story have to do with The Beatles?
And who are these people? All this and more will be revealed!
ADVANCE ANNOUNCEMENT OF SHOW SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER, 2025 – The very talented writer/Beatle fan extraordinaire Ken Orth recently shared a bit of preliminary information about an exhibition he’s curating later this year (October 24-26 at the Artstryngs Gallery in beautiful Savannah, Georgia) that looks to be a must-see by any/all of us hopelessly bitten by the record cover lover bug. Here’s a bit about what’s behind Ken’s creation – “How did a famous surfing poster lead to a Beatles’ album cover? For the photographers, illustrators and other artists who gave us The Beatles LP covers, their Beatles’ art was one piece in a lifetime’s body of work. An exhibit titled And Then They Did This…Curiosities by The Beatles’ Album Artists will feature a collection of pop art in which each artist’s Beatles’ LP cover is paired with a creative curiosity from their other artistic achievements. “Could’ve-been” covers, parodies, a Christmas card and other rare objects illustrate this quirky story. The exhibit will be shown at Artstryngs Gallery in Savannah, Georgia on October 24-26.”
As proof that this show is just Ken’s way of sharing his passion for album art and record collecting, there’s no catalog to buy and nothing is for sale. He is, however, happy to direct people to places where many of the exhibit pieces can be purchased. He’s also preparing to host a short “welcome to the show” talk on Friday evening and a curator tour mid-day on Saturday (2:00PM EST) and so fans will be able to meet the talented and dedicated guy who put this all together.
The Artstryngs Gallery (a family-owned business founded by the mother and son team of Rebecca and Adam Wyatt, two people with a passion for art and music) is located at 530 E. Liberty St, Savannah, GA 31401 (phone – 912-468-5413) https://www.artstryngs.com/ and you can find the latest issue of Beatlefan Magazine (featuring Ken’s writing) at https://beatlefan.com/in-the-current-issue/
